One of 2021’s most anticipated dramas Jiri Mountain is reportedly done with filming!
The show features Hallyu (Korean Wave) megastars Ju Ji-hoon (Hyena) and Jun Ji-hyun (The Legend of the Blue Sea). Also known as Cliffhanger and Jirisan (Mount Jiri), the drama revolves around the rangers and other employees of the Jirisan National Park who work to rescue lost trekkers and those who visit to end their lives. Also starring in the show are Sung Dong-il (Sisyphus: The Myth) and Oh Jung-se (The Good Detective).
On June 18, a tvN official revealed to the media that Jiri Mountain has finished filming in June and is expected to air in the second half of the year, most likely in October. The drama’s team is in the process of fine-tuning production details and finalizing the broadcasting schedule.
Jiri Mountain is a collaboration between Signal (2016) and Kingdom (two seasons/2019, 2020) writer Kim Eun-hee and Mr. Sunshine (2018) director Lee Eung-bok. It is the first South Korean series to be filmed at the famed Jirisan National Park. The show will air on tvN and will be streamed worldwide via over-the-top (OTT) platform iQIYI.
Meanwhile, this July, Jun Ji-hyun will appear in a special episode of Kingdom subtitled Ashin of the North, which is set to stream on Netflix. Catch up with the drama’s promo’s here.
