Actress Jun Ji-hyun may be coming to the small screen early next year as she is considering to headline a new drama from writers Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran (also known collectively as the Hong Sisters). Culture Depot, the actress’ management agency, confirmed on October 12 that she is considering to appear in the series but it is only one of the many productions she has received an offer for.
A source from Jun Ji-hyun’s agency explained that she has been offered roles in various films and TV series and that she has not decided yet whether she will film a movie or a drama. “She is carefully deciding her next production, and plans to greet fans next year after selecting a good production,” the source said.
The actress’s most recent drama is the 2016 fantasy romance Legend of the Blue Sea. After giving birth to her second child last January, she focused on her role as a mother and accepted only a few advertisements deals. She has not starred in a series or film since 2016. Her appearance in a film or drama in 2019 will become her first production in almost two and a half years.
The Hong Sisters have made a name for themselves in the romantic comedy genre of Korean dramas. Some of their previous dramas include Hwayugi (2017-2018), The Master’s Sun (2013), My Girlfriend is a Gumiho (2010), and My Girl (2005-2006).
