JTBC’s ‘Senior, Don’t Put on That Lipstick’ welcomes new cast member Lee Ji-hyun

Actress Lee Ji-hyun is officially a cast member of JTBC’s upcoming series Senior, Don’t Put on That Lipstick (also Sunbae, Don’t Put on That Lipstick).

On September 4, Lee’s agency announced, “Lee Ji-hyun was cast in JTBC’s new Monday-Tuesday drama Senior, Don’t Put on That Lipstick.

Based on a popular 2017 web novel of the same title written by Elise, the new office romantic-comedy follows a charming and straightforward office worker as he pursues his sunbae (a Korean term for senior or elder, whether in school, office, or any industry). However, he soon realizes that she is not interested in dating guys younger than her. The series stars Won Jin-ah (Melting Me Softly) and Rowoon (Extraordinary You) in the lead cast and are joined by Lee Hyun-wook (Strangers from Hell), Lee Joo-bin (Find Me in Your Memory), Lee Kyu-han (Graceful Family), Wang Bit-na (King Maker: The Change of Destiny), Ha Yoon-kyung (Hospital Playlist), and Kang Hye-jin.

Lee Ji-hyun has signed up to play the role of Oh Wol-sun, a mother who becomes obsessed with her daughter Yoon Song-ah (Won Jin-ah) after losing her husband. With her own delicate and emotional acting, Lee Ji-hyun’s character is anticipated to be a source of conflict for the would-be lovers. The actress is recognized for her acting ability with her performances in many past projects, such as in The Package (2017), Queen of Mystery 2 (2018), Beautiful World (2019), and Abyss (2019). She last appeared in Mystic Pop-up Bar (2020) with a cameo role.

Senior, Don’t Put on That Lipstick, led by director Lee Dong-yoon of 20th Century Boy and Girl (2017), is scheduled for broadcast in the first half of next year.

Luna

It was Princess Lulu who first introduced her to Korean dramas but it was Yoon Ji-hoo from Boys Over Flowers who enticed her to stay in K-dramaland. She writes news and features for Kdramapal, which combines two of her most favorite things in the world—writing and K-dramas (look who's living the dream). The name Luna literally translates to "moon" and nothing special; she just likes writing at night.
