JTBC Studios, the company behind well-known Korean cable TV network JTBC, has become the first in its industry to explore the live e-commerce business.
By utilizing its intellectual property (IP) rights, the entertainment company has opened an official smart store and began selling exclusive Nevertheless merchandise through real-time video streaming. The store’s available goods include watch and jewelry sets by STONEHENgE, inno.N health tonics, and curation of various butterfly-inspired goods.
The first three streams hosted by the Nevertheless smart store have registered a user participation rate that is seven times greater than the other stores—equivalent to 50,000 reservations and around 150,000 active participants if translated into numbers. In addition, the said engagement is also the highest that was ever recorded on Naver’s live e-commerce platform.
Made possible through collaborations with D: Season Nego Corporation and Naver Shopping, JTBC Studios’ Nevertheless smart store will continue to go live every Sunday until August 22.
Meanwhile, Nevertheless is a realistic depiction of the modern-day romance between art students Yoo Na-bi (Han So-hee, The World of the Married), a lady who likes to date despite having given up on love, and Park Jae-eon (Song Kang, Navillera), a friendly and flirty guy who never commits to a serious romantic relationship. The drama can be watched on JTBC every Saturday at 11 p.m. KST or via Netflix shortly after its television airing.
