Jo Bo-ah is on to Lee Dong-wook in new teaser for ‘Tale of the Nine Tailed’

tvN’s Tale of the Nine Tailed has dropped its second teaser, giving the viewers a first look at the impending chase between TV producer Nam Ji-ah and the titular mythical nine-tailed fox Lee Yeon.

Tale of the Nine Tailed is a romantic fantasy series that centers on Lee Yeon (Lee Dong-wook, Strangers from Hell), a judge and a former mountain god who has settled into the city, killing the creatures who wreak havoc in the human world. During his pursuit of the monsters, he catches the attention of Nam Ji-ah (Jo Bo-ah, Forest), a producer who specializes in shows about mysterious beings. As she pushes to unravel Lee Yeon’s true self, Ji-ah also attempts to find out the reason behind her parents’ sudden disappearance 21 years ago.

The freshly released promo clip introduces Lee Yeon and Nam Ji-ah in quick scene bursts. It opens with a man under a red umbrella, who seems to be Lee Yeon, walking up the stairs, as Ji-ah asks in the background, “What are you doing here?” The shot then shifts to the inside of an apartment, revealing Ji-ah and Lee Yeon doing an interview. As the clip changes and shows a frantic Ji-ah on the scene of a car accident, Lee Yeon retorts, “What kind of person are you looking for?” The video then plays subsequent shots of Ji-ah observing Lee Yeon, a crime scene in the middle of the night, and Lee Rang (Kim Bum, Mrs. Cop 2), Lee Yeon’s half-gumiho, half-human stepbrother who loathes humans, smiling wickedly. Towards the end of the clip, Ji-ah reveals that she is not looking for a person. As she stands closely to Lee Yeon and looks into his eyes, she says, “And I’ve already found it,” as if hinting that she already knows his secrets.

The production team shared, “In the second teaser video, we [get a glimpse] of the [drama’s] thrilling fantasy, action, and romance [themes] through the exchange of powerful lines [between Lee Yeon and Nam Ji-ah]. Please look forward to the fascinating yet brutal romance between Lee Dong-wook’s and Jo Bo-ah’s [characters].” The suspense-filled series, spearheaded by director Kang Shin-hyo and writer Han Woo-ri, is expected to bring breathtaking developments with each episode, as the two characters slowly unmask each other.

Viewers can catch the exciting story of Tale of the Nine Tailed beginning October 7, following the conclusion of the ongoing Lee Joon-gi and Moon Chae-won series, Flower of Evil.
