Actress Jo Bo-ah has confirmed her lead role in the upcoming romance drama Secret. SidusHQ, her agency, made the announcement regarding her casting on March 5.
The actress has been in talks for the role since early this year. Her co-star, Park Hae-jin, has previously expressed his excitement about the possibility of working with the young actress although nothing has been confirmed yet at that time. Now that Jo Bo-ah has been officially cast for the role, filming for the drama is set to start soon.
Secret is about people with deep desires who are healing from their unhappy memories. The scars they have will heal as they learn how to love themselves and the people around them. Jo Bo-ah will play the role of Jung Young-jae, a resident at a university hospital. She is a confident woman with a passion for what she does.
Jo Bo-ah recently wrapped up her work in My Strange Hero, where she took on the lead role opposite Yoo Seung-ho. She was also in the drama Temperature of Love with Yang Se-jong and Seo Hyun-jin.
Meanwhile, Park Hae-jin will be playing the role of Kang San-hyuk, a member of South Korea’s emergency rescue team (119). He is a perfectionist with a painful childhood, although he has no recollection of it. As mentioned in a previous report, Secret will be Park Hae-jin’s first romantic drama since his acting debut. Park’s role fits him well as he has been very vocal about his support for the said emergency team.
Secret is set to premiere in the latter half of 2019.
