Upcoming SBS drama Those Who Read Hearts of Evil (literal title) has confirmed its main cast!
Jin Seon-kyu and Kim So-jin are set to join leading man Kim Nam-gil in the thriller drama.
Those Who Read Hearts of Evil will tell the story of one of the first criminal profilers in South Korea and explore the field of criminal psychology. It is based on a novel written by Go Na-moo and Kwon Il-yong, with the latter being the real-life criminal profiler the story is based on. Kwon helped nab several notorious killers in the early 2000s.
Kim Nam-gil (The Fiery Priest) is set to essay the leading role of Song Ha-young, a profiler at Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s forensic science department. He specializes in criminal behavior analysis and struggles to read the minds of serial killers. Despite appearing like he has no emotions, Song is able to look deeper into the human psyche than anyone else.
Jin Seon-kyu (Kingdom 2) will play Kook Young-soo, the head of Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s criminal behavior analysis team. The team is created as a necessity after Young-soo realizes the need to analyze criminal psychology.
Kim So-jin (Marriage Contract) will play Yoon Tae-goo, head of the mobile investigation team under Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. She is known as a “violent crimes legend” among the police because of her animal-like instincts about events.
Those Who Read Hearts of Evil is set to air in the second half of 2021. It will be directed by Park Bo-ram, and the script has been penned by writer Seol Yi-na.
