Jin Goo, Jung Eun-ji cast in upcoming JTBC drama “Untouchable”

Jin Goo (Night Light) and Apink’s Jung Eun-gi (Cheer Up) have been confirmed on July 18 to headline the upcoming JTBC drama tentatively called Untouchable. The actor and actress will be acting in the drama alongside  Kim Sung-Kyun (Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo) and Koh Joon-Hee (She Was Pretty) who are taking on the major supporting roles.

Jin Goo’s character is named Jang Joon-seo, a detective squad chief and second son of a powerful figure in his home city. The actor expressed how glad he is to become part of the drama, saying, ““I am very happy to be part of such a great project. Above all else, the strong script was very appealing to me and I am studying in order to successfully take on the role of Jang Joon Seo. Please look forward to the drama.”

Untouchable will be written and directed by Choi Jin-won (The Man in the Mask) and Jo Nam-kook (Fantastic), respectively, who also directed the award-winning drama The Chaser. It will center around Jang Joon-seo as the second son of an influential family that has ruled the fictional city of Buckheon for three generations. He finds himself in a complicated situation after the death of the woman he loves as he tries to reveal the truth about her death and a secret from his family.

No details were released yet about Jung Eun-ji’s role. The production team has yet to finalize and complete the casting.

Untouchable marks the second drama in which Jin Goo will be playing the lead role. He got his first leading role in a drama through Night Light after starring in the hit 2016 series Descendants of the Sun. The drama is also his second cable TV series after Beating Again in 2015. It will premiere in October after The Package, which will follow Woman of Dignity and Age of Youth 2.
