Ji Soo becomes the new face of foolish love as he gets into character for his upcoming project River Where the Moon Rises.
KBS2’s new Monday and Tuesday drama is a fictionalized adaptation of the urban legend about the passionate love of General On Dal, played by Ji Soo (When I Was the Most Beautiful), for Princess Pyeonggang, played by Kim So-hyun (The Tale of Nokdu), a royalty-born female warrior who dreams to become Goguryeo’s first female emperor. The series also stars Lee Ji-hoon (Dinner Mate) and Choi Yu-hwa (My Dangerous Wife) in the main roles. 56th Baeksang Best Actor awardee Kang Ha-neul (When the Camellia Blooms) has also joined the cast for a special guest appearance.
Ji Soo’s character, the great General On Dal, is described as a simple and honest man who loves nature. His great love for Princess Pyeonggang, who used his love for her to chase after her ambition, earned him the nickname of “Foolish On Dal” for 1,500 years. In the released stills, Ji Soo charms the viewers with his character transformation and spot-on portrayal of the young and foolish On Dal with his powerful facial expressions and natural acting adlibs.
In addition, the warm vibe and physical features of the actor make him the perfect choice to portray General On Dal. Whatever role he is given, Ji Soo proves that he is an actor of a different caliber who can fully immerse himself in his character.
River Where the Moon Rises will be aired for the first time on Monday, February 15, at 9:30 p.m. KST.
