KBS2’s new weekend drama Gentleman and Young Lady will tell the story of a “gentleman” and a “lady” who take responsibility for their choices and seek their own happiness. The drama will also feature other heartwarming elements such as family, healing, and life lessons.
Ji is confirmed to play Lee Young-guk, a widower who still mourns the loss of his wife. However, as he has not forgotten his responsibilities to his three children, he hires a live-in tutor for them. Eventually, he finds himself slowly getting attracted to her.
Meanwhile, rookie actress Lee is set to play Park Dan-dan, the tutor who is hired to teach Young-guk’s children. She has a bright and bold personality and chooses to remain optimistic despite her harsh reality. As she becomes the resident family teacher, she cannot help but get drawn towards her employer, Young-guk, even though he is in a complicated situation.
Gentleman and Young Lady is set to be helmed by producing director (PD) Shin Chang-seok, who directed other KBS2 dramas such as Love to the End (2018) and Man in a Veil (2020–2021), and will be penned by Kim Sa-kyung, who wrote the scripts for the dramas Loving You a Thousand Times (2009–2010), My Love by My Side (2011), and My Only One (2018–2019).
