Actor Ji Hyun-woo might return to the small screen in a long weekend drama!
Ji’s agency Lion Heart Entertainment confirmed that the actor has been approached for the upcoming KBS2 drama The Gentleman and the Lady (literal title) and is reviewing the script.
Musician-turned-actor Ji Hyun-woo started in the entertainment industry as the lead guitarist of the Korean rock band The Nuts. He then dabbled in acting, with his popularity rising in 2004 after the drama You Will Know and the movie Old Miss Diary, leading the local media to nickname him “Nation’s Little Brother.” He is best known for starring opposite Yoo In-na in the tvN drama Queen and I (2012). Last year, Ji wowed the viewers in the drama Love Is Annoying, but I Hate Being Lonely.
The Gentleman and the Lady is set to be KBS2’s newest 50-episode weekend drama. It tells the story of a woman who is chasing after her happiness. Park Ha-na (Mystic Pop-up Bar) has been offered the lead role, along with Cha Hwa-yeon (Run On).
The drama will be directed by Shin Chang-seok, who is known for Love to the End (2018) and A Man in a Veil (2020–2021), while the script has been penned by Kim Sa-kyung of My Only One (2018) fame. It is scheduled to air in the second half of the year, after the conclusion of the Go Won-hee and Jeon Hye-bin starrer Revolutionary Sisters.
