We might see stars Jeon So-nee and Park Hyung-sik in one drama soon!
Industry insiders revealed on June 14, “Jeon So-nee will [appear as a] lead cast [member] in the upcoming drama Youth, Climb the Barrier.” Her agency Management SOOP later addressed the reports, saying, “We have received an offer to join the project and are in the process of finalizing the details.”
Youth, Climb the Barrier, previously known as The Golden Hairpin, will tell the story of a prince who suffers from a mysterious curse and a woman who gets falsely accused of murdering her own family. While realizing that they are each other’s only savior, the two unexpectedly spark a romantic connection.
Jeon So-nee, known for her roles in the dramas Encounter (2018–2019), When My Love Blooms (2020), and Scripting Your Destiny (2021), is being roped in to play Min Jae-yi, a quiet, gentle, and simple woman. Jae-yi is engaged to the Second State Councillor’s son and has been already preparing to become a good homemaker.
Four days before her wedding, however, her parents and brother gets killed, and she is accused of the murder. As she runs for her life, Jae-yi crosses paths with the cursed Prince Lee Hwan, the role being offered to Suits (2018) actor Park Hyung-sik.
Youth, Climb the Barrier (working title) is penned by screenwriter Jung Hyun-jung of Lovestruck in the City (2020–2021) and will be directed by Lee Jong-jae of 100 Days My Prince (2018). The series is currently under discussions to air via tvN and is slated to begin filming in the second half of this year.
