Jang Won-hyung to join cast of tvN’s upcoming drama ‘Tale of the Nine Tailed’

Jang Won-hyung will be joining the cast of tvN’s upcoming series Tale of the Nine Tailed!

His agency announced on July 9 that the actor “will appear as Baek Shi-woo in tvN’s new drama Tale of the Nine Tailed.”

The fantasy series centers on Lee Yeon (Lee Dong-wook, Strangers From Hell), a gumiho (a mythical nine-tailed fox) who is able to transform into a human and goes around cleaning the mess left behind by those who cause havoc in the world. Nam Ji-ah (Jo Bo-ah, Forest), a TV production director whose show features urban myths, sets her eyes on Lee Yeon. However, things get complicated when Lee Rang (Kim Bum, Mrs. Cop 2), enters the picture. He is Lee Yeon’s stepbrother who is half-human and half-gumiho. He has deep hatred for humans and tricks them into granting their wishes, only to make them pay a terrible price.

Jang Won-hyung will play Baek Shi-woo, a detective who knows Ji-ah from their high school days. He also helps her in her TV program.

Jang was last seen in Stove League (2020). He has taken on supporting roles in several popular series in the past such as Something in the Rain (2018), Priest (2018–2019), and Trap (2019).

Through his agency, Jang Won-hyung said, “I am excited because I can show [the viewers] a new look that I have not shown [them] before. I will do my best to have great fun.”

Tale of the Nine Tailed will air in the second half of 2020. It will be directed by Kang Shin-hyo, who directed The Heirs (2013) and Children of a Lesser God (2018). It will be written by Han Woo-ri, who also worked with Director Kang in Children of a Lesser God.

Luna

It was Princess Lulu who first introduced her to Korean dramas but it was Yoon Ji-hoo from Boys Over Flowers who enticed her to stay in K-dramaland. She writes news and features for Kdramapal, which combines two of her most favorite things in the world—writing and K-dramas (look who's living the dream). The name Luna literally translates to "moon" and nothing special; she just likes writing at night.
