Famous singer-actors Jang Na-ra and Jung Yong-hwa are in talks to headline the upcoming supernatural series Daebak Real Estate (literal title), according to Hankyung Media on the 21st.
In response to the news, Jang’s side said, “She has received an offer to appear in Daebak Real Estate and is considering it.” Similarly, FNC Entertainment stated on behalf of Jung, “It is one of the works that he is being proposed with and we are currently discussing his possible participation.”
Daebak Real Estate is described as an occult drama about real estate brokers who exorcise properties that are believed to house ghosts or where people have died in.
Jang Na-ra has been tapped to play the character Hong Ji-ah, the female boss behind Daebak Real Estate. Underneath her beautiful face and intelligence is a fierce and hot-tempered exorcist who got her psychic abilities from her mother. Jang is well-renowned for her portrayals in popular series, such as Go Back Couple (2017), The Last Empress (2018–2019), and VIP (2019). If negotiations go well, she will be hopping on to her next television role after recently starring in the romantic-comedy drama Oh My Baby (2020).
Acting opposite Jang is Jung Yong-hwa who was offered the role of Oh In-bum, a con artist who does not believe in ghosts but is using them to earn a living. His keen observation and excellent correlation skills allow him to logically predict future events in any given situation. Hong Ji-ah soon partners with him in uncovering the secret behind her mother’s death 20 years ago. Jung gained initial fame for his roles in the series You’re Beautiful (2009) and Heartstrings (2011). He then solidified his domestic and international reputation as an actor by playing the male protagonists in The Three Musketeers (2014) and The Package (2017). Viewers are eagerly anticipating Jung to put an end to his small-screen hiatus with the offered role in the upcoming project.
Daebak Real Estate is discussing its broadcast formation with KBS and is targeting to air in the first half of 2021.
