Im Hyun-joo, Kim Min-seok confirmed to star in new KakaoTV drama

KakaoTV will be releasing a new drama with Kim Min-seok (Lovestruck in the City) and Im Hyun-joo (Wish Woosh 2) as leads!

Kakao Entertainment announced the casting confirmation of both stars for its new drama From Today Engine On. The story centers on a genius car mechanic and his journey in life as he goes through many experiences and meets different people in the automobile industry.

Kim will play the role of Cha Dae-hyun, a mechanic possessing natural talent and pure passion for automobiles. He meets various people through his work who contribute to his growth in life. His talent and passion may be unrivaled, but he is a shy man who cannot express his unrequited love towards No Yoo-hwa. Kim said, “In order to portray the role of an auto mechanic, I received training and studied cars a lot. I tried my best to show sympathetic acting.”

Meanwhile, rookie actress Im Hyun-joo is taking on her first lead role through the drama. She will star opposite Kim as No Yoo-hwa, a car service center manager who always takes pride in her work and treats people with kindness. However, behind her bright personality lies a deep, unforgettable wound.

From Today Engine On is a part of KakaoTV’s new format “Four-part Emotional Drama” and is scheduled to air every Tuesday beginning June 29 at 8 p.m. KST on KakaoTV. In each episode, turbulent events will unfold in various genres such as melodrama, comic, human, and mystery. The drama is expected to bring a different kind of fun to the viewers.

It was Princess Lulu who first introduced her to Korean dramas but it was Yoon Ji-hoo from Boys Over Flowers who enticed her to stay in K-dramaland. She writes news and features for Kdramapal, which combines two of her most favorite things in the world—writing and K-dramas (look who's living the dream). The name Luna literally translates to "moon" and nothing special; she just likes writing at night.
