Hyeri in talks to headline new tvN office drama ‘Miss Lee’

On March 29, a source from the industry claimed that Hyeri has been offered a lead role in tvN’s upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama tentatively titled Miss Lee, about people enjoying an innovative workplace culture in which employees respect each other regardless of their positions.

In response to the report, tvN clarified that while Hyeri is actually in talks to headline the new drama, the decision to air the series on the network is not a done deal yet. “The station is reviewing to include the drama to our drama lineup for the second half of 2019. Hyeri is looking positively at the offer,” a representative from the network said. Meanwhile, Hyeri’s agency has yet to respond to the report.

Should Hyeri say yes to the offer, she will play Lee Seon-shim, who works her way up from a bookkeeper to CEO of a large company.

The actress was last seen in Two Cops (2017-2018). Since her acting debut in 2012, she appeared in a total of six dramas. She is best known for her role in the hit family series Reply 1988, where she starred alongside Park Bo-gum, Ryu Jun-yeol, Go Kyung-pyo, and Lee Dong-hwi. The show is one of tvN’s highest-rated dramas of all time.

Miss Lee will be directed by Han Dong-hwa, who is known for directing the 2016 OCN drama Squad 38. If things turn out favorably for the production team, the series will premiere in September, following the conclusion of When The Devil Calls Your Name.
