‘Hospital Playlist’ introduces main characters in official trailer

tvN’s upcoming medical drama Hospital Playlist released a new trailer that introduces its five main characters.

The series is the latest work of PD Shin Won-ho and writer Lee Woo-jung, the pair behind the hit Reply (also known as Answer Me) series. It stars Jo Jung-suk, Kim Dae-myung, Jung Kyung-ho, Yoo Yeon-seok, and Jeon Mi-do as five doctors who became friends 20 years ago when they were still in medical school. At present, they all work in the same hospital and the show will explore how their lives are affected by each other and the people they encounter at their workplace.

The almost 2-minute teaser introduces the five leads, providing sneak peeks into their quirky personalities, their lives as doctors, as well as their friendship. Jeon Mi-do (Mother) stars as Song-hwa, a perfectionist and the only woman in the group. Kim Dae-myung (The Sound of Your Heart) plays Seok-hyung, who is socially inept and a mama’s boy, while Jo Jung-suk (Nokdu Flower) portrays Ik-joon, a genius who excels at work despite partying hard.

Jung Kyung-ho (When the Devil Calls Your Name) takes on the role of Joon-wan, a skilled surgeon with a cold personality, while Yoo Yeon-seok (Mr. Sunshine) plays Jung-won, the crybaby of the group. All five characters have unique personalities that make their group dynamics highly entertaining to watch.

After the introductions, the tone of the teaser turns serious as the daily struggles of being a doctor are brought to light. The main characters try their best to save their patients. As they are shown tearing up because of the pressures of their jobs, their friendship with each other cheers them up and carries them through hard times.

Hospital Playlist will premiere on March 12, airing every Thursday at 9 p.m. KST. It will also be available for streaming on Netflix.
