‘Hospital Playlist 2’ unveils main cast’s fun-filled chemistry in first teaser, moving poster

tvN’s upcoming drama Hospital Playlist has unveiled its first teaser video and moving poster for season two.

Hospital Playlist is a slice-of-life drama about the friendship of five medical doctors who found the same passion in profession and music. Hospital Playlist 2 will pick up the story from last season’s finale, where each of the characters faced individual conflicts.

Jo Jung-suk (Nokdu Flower), Yoo Yeon-seok (Mr. Sunshine), Jung Kyung-ho (When the Devil Calls Your Name), Jeon Mi-do (Mother), and Kim Dae-myung (The Sound of Your Heart) are reprising their roles in season two.

The teaser video sets off the mood for the beginning of the new season with dramatic and lively music and a statement that reads, “Forget season one! A more powerful return! This time, it’s action! The most special medical blockbuster of 2021!” The characters are also shown being more charmingly chaotic than they were in the last season, and there are much more intense life-saving surgery scenes. However, the music suddenly stops, the video dims, and the words, “If that’s what you are looking forward to, there will be no such thing,” appear on the screen.

The teaser then switches back to the first season’s vibe, with a calm melody in the background, and the characters are doing their usual get-together, eating meals. The voice of Jeon Mi-do, who plays Chae Song-hwa, can be heard in the background, saying, “Whether good or bad, there’s a lot that goes on in our lives every day.” The clip then proceeds to give sneak peeks of the events that will happen in season two.

Meanwhile, the moving poster highlights the beginning of the friendship of the five characters. In a series of photos, the five try to recreate the scene where they all first met as medical school students and were photographed together. In the present version, they throw in extra, fun-filled banter that show their relationship as longtime friends.

Hospital Playlist 2 will premiere on June 17 at 9 p.m. KST.

It was Princess Lulu who first introduced her to Korean dramas but it was Yoon Ji-hoo from Boys Over Flowers who enticed her to stay in K-dramaland. She writes news and features for Kdramapal, which combines two of her most favorite things in the world—writing and K-dramas (look who's living the dream). The name Luna literally translates to "moon" and nothing special; she just likes writing at night.
