In the run-up to its premiere, tvN’s upcoming medical comedy drama Hospital Playlist 2 has dropped stills for lead actors Jung Kyung-ho and Kim Dae-myung.
Hospital Playlist 2 depicts the everyday lives of five doctors who have been friends for over 20 years, as well as the patients and fellow doctors they come into contact with.
The first season of Hospital Playlist aired from March to May of 2020 and, as of writing, is the ninth highest-rated show in Korean cable television history. It is also among the most-viewed Netflix shows in South Korea.
In the show, Jung Kyung-ho plays Kim Jun-wan, a professor of cardiothoracic surgery. His character charmed viewers in the last season by looking tough on the outside while being affectionate at heart.
Jung effortlessly switches between a charismatic doctor and a goofy regular man hanging out with his friends. In his still images, it seems that he has already engrossed himself in the character of the chic Doctor Kim.
Kim Dae-myung, on the other hand, plays Yang Seok-hyeong, a professor of obstetrics and gynecology. His character is warm at heart but also extremely eccentric. He does not get along with anyone except his group of friends.
In his still images, he seems to embody a doctor who sympathizes with the pains of his patients and offers them a listening ear.
Hospital Playlist 2 is penned by screenwriter Lee Woo-jung and producing director (PD) Shin Won-ho of the Reply series fame. It is set to air its second season on June 12, 2021.
