Actor Hong Jong-hyun has been released from mandatory military service today, June 17.
According to Hong’s agency C-JeS Entertainment, “Hong Jong-hyun, who enlisted in the military last December 2019, has completed one year and six months of service and got discharged on June 17 in a healthy state.”
In addition, the 31-year-old star shared, “I finished my military service well and got off safely. I had a difficult time in the military, but I also gained a lot of valuable experiences. You must have gone through many hardships, too, so I hope that the future will be filled with only pleasant things.”
Hong Jong-hyun is a model-turned-actor who landed his first television lead role in the cable drama Her Lovely Heels (2014). In the succeeding years of his acting career, he played important roles in various series including Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (2016), The King in Love (2017), Mother of Mine (2019), and My Absolute Boyfriend (2019).
Hong bid a temporary goodbye to his life as a celebrity in December 2, 2019 and enlisted at the Nonsan Army Recruit Training Center in South Chungcheong Province.
Currently, Hong Jong-hyun is reportedly planning to review project offers for his highly awaited comeback.
