Actress Han Ye-seul (Madam Antoine) is considering to take the lead role in MBC’s much-awaited drama, No Sex and the City. KeyEast, Han Ye-seul’s agency, confirmed that this offer is one of the many roles the actress is considering at the moment.
No Sex and the City talks about the lives of three ladies who are in their 30’s and how they would experience falling in love for the first time. This romantic part of the drama will begin when a certain boy they liked back in their youthful days suddenly shows up in their lives. They are single virgins who live in Oksu-dong and are showered with neighborly affection and support despite living in a rather humble environment. The romantic comedy aims to give a realistic portrayal of single women who are on their way to maturity. It will tackle how the three women’s relationship with different people deepen and grow as time goes on. Their roles as a friend, neighbor, and daughter will be given many highlights on the show as well, making it a highly relatable TV series for the 21st-century woman.
Han Ye-seul was last seen on JTBC’s 2016 Kdrama, Madame Antoine. She played as a fake fortune-teller who can actually discern people. She insists that she is spiritually connected to the historical figure, Marie Antoinette. She starred with actor Sung Joon who acted as a psychotherapist who does not believe in true love. If Han Ye-seul accepts MBC’s offer, this would be her next leading role after the cable drama.
The upcoming Korean drama, No Sex and the City, is written by Lee Sun-hye (Reply 1997) and will be directed by PD Lee Dong-yoon (Happy Home). The romantic comedy is up to air this fall season on MBC and will take over the network’s Monday-Tuesday slot, following the currently airing Lookout and the yet-to-air The King Loves this coming September.
