Gugudan’s Kim Se-jeong offered lead role in ‘Let Me Hear Your Song’

Reports on March 29 claimed that Gugudan’s Kim Se-jeong has received an offer to play the leading role in an upcoming KBS drama titled Let Me Hear Your Song.

In response to the reports, Kim Se-jong’s agency Jellyfish Entertainment confirmed the casting offer by saying, “It is true that she has received an offer for the role, but a decision has yet to be made. She is positively considering the offer.”

If Kim Se-jeong accepts the role, she will play Hong Yi-young, an assistant timpanist in a local orchestra who has been looking for a job for three years. The drama will tell the love story of a woman who can only fall asleep when she hears a tone-deaf person singing. It also touches the long-lost love that she is searching for.

Kim Se-jeong rose to fame after her runner-up finish in the talent competition show Produce 101. She eventually joined IOI, and then debuted with the girl group Gugudan under Jellyfish Entertainment. In 2017, she made her acting debut after she was cast as the lead actress in School 2017 which also stars Kim Jung-hyun and Jang Dong-yoon.

Let Me Hear Your Song will be directed by Lee Jung-mi and written by Kim Min-joo who wrote the KBS1 daily drama Sunny Again Tomorrow (2018). It is slated to begin airing in August.
