GOT7’s Jinyoung joins cast of Kim Go-eun’s upcoming drama ‘Yumi’s Cells’

GOT7 member Jinyoung (The Devil Judge) is the newest cast addition to the upcoming drama Yumi’s Cells!

Yumi’s Cells is about an ordinary office worker named Yumi, who is in her 30s. Her typical life will be narrated through the perspective of the cells inside her head that control her thoughts, actions, and feelings. Previously, stars Kim Go-eun (The King: Eternal Monarch), Ahn Bo-hyun (Kairos), Lee Yu-bi (Joseon Exorcist), and Park Ji-hyun (Do You Like Brahms?) have been confirmed as part of the cast lineup. It was also reported that SHINee’s Minho (Lovestruck in the City) will make a special appearance in the drama.

Jinyoung plays the role of Bobby or Yoo Ba-bi, Yumi’s perfect co-worker who has the looks, brain, and personality. Jinyoung, who already started filming, said, “Thanks to everyone on set, I had a good time filming my first scenes. I had a lot of conversations with the director about my character Ba-bi. I was able to naturally immerse myself in the story because I was able to diligently study and research my character.”

Yumi’s Cells is helmed by Lee Sang-yeob of A Piece of Your Mind (2020) and penned by writers Song Jae-jung (Memories of the AlhambraW – Two Worlds), Kim Yoon-joo (Find Me in Your MemoryDuel), and rookie Kim Kyung-ran. It will air on tvN and TVING.

It was Princess Lulu who first introduced her to Korean dramas but it was Yoon Ji-hoo from Boys Over Flowers who enticed her to stay in K-dramaland. She writes news and features for Kdramapal, which combines two of her most favorite things in the world—writing and K-dramas (look who's living the dream). The name Luna literally translates to "moon" and nothing special; she just likes writing at night.
