Go Kyung-pyo, Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun to play con artists in new JTBC drama

Go Kyung-pyo and Girls’ Generation member Seohyun have been confirmed to star in the new JTBC drama Private Life.

The series tells the story of a skilled con artist, who unwittingly gets involved in private matters of national importance and uses all her skills to fight a huge corporation.

Seohyun (The Time) signed up for the role of a con artist by the name of Cha Joo-eun, who turns to fraud to make money and survive on her own.

Go Kyung-pyo signed on to play a mysterious man named Lee Jung-hwan. He crosses path with Seohyun’s character while impersonating the team leader of a major electronics company. This is Go’s first drama lead role after being discharged from his mandatory military service last January. He was last seen in the 2018 tvN series Cross.

Meanwhile, Kim Hyo-jin (Marry Me, Mary!) has also been confirmed to play her first major character in a Korean drama in 10 years through Private Life. She will be playing Jung Bok-gi, a con artist who swindles money out of other con artists. She has committed fraud against Cha Joo-eun’s family and runs off to China, but after a while of inactivity, she reappears in Cha’s life.

Private Life is scheduled to air in the second half of 2020.
