Korean remake of 'Designated Survivor'
On August 19, a source from the Kdrama industry reported to Ilgan Sports that cable network tvN might produce a Korean remake of Designated Survivor, an ABC drama about a "designated survivor" who suddenly becomes President of the US after everyone else in the line of succession for the presidency is killed in an attack. The original series is an American political drama starring Kiefer Sutherland and Natascha McElhone.
The first season of the series aired in 2016, while the second season ended in May this year.
The producing director for the Korean adaptation is said to be Yoo Jong-sun who has worked on dramas like Marry Him If You Dare and The Red Teacher.
