tvN’s upcoming historical drama No Touch Princess, also known as Queen Cheorin, has dropped a hilarious first teaser.
No Touch Princess is a historical-comedy fantasy series and stars Shin Hye-sun (Angel’s Last Mission: Love) in the titular role. It tells the story of a free-spirited man in the modern age named Jang Bong-hwan, who works at the Blue House. One day, Bong-hwan suddenly wakes up to find that his spirit has become trapped in the body of the Queen of Joseon, Kim So-yong.
The drama also stars Kim Jung-hyun (Crash Landing on You) as King Cheoljong, the husband of Queen Kim So-yong. He seems laidback but hides deep secrets, his personality fluctuating between strong and gentle. Unfortunately, he has been relegated to a mere figurehead in running the country’s affairs by the late King’s wife Queen Sunwon, played by Bae Jong-ok (Graceful Family). Kim Tae-woo (The Spies Who Loved Me) plays Queen Sunwon’s ambitious younger brother, while Seol In-ah (Beautiful Love, Wonderful Life) plays King Cheoljeong’s first love and concubine.
In the video teaser released on November 4, Shin Hye-sun is seen waking up in alarm, breathing fast. She lights a candle, and we see that she is dressed in a traditional hanbok and is inside a Queen’s chamber. She looks at herself in the mirror and is shocked, then takes a peep inside her clothes and emits a squeal of surprise. A man’s surprised voice says, “Am I a woman?” Outside her chambers, the Queen’s attendants are seen rushing somewhere in groups. Shin, who is returning to the small screen after a year, is already garnering much interest for her role as a man trapped in a woman’s body.
No Touch Princess is directed by Yoon Sung-shik, who helmed the historical comedy Hwarang (2016–2017), and written by Park Gye-ok, who wrote Doctor Prisoner (2019), and Choi Ah-il. It will premiere on December 12, replacing Nam Joo-hyuk and Suzy’s Start-Up.
