JTBC dropped the first teaser and posters for its upcoming comedy drama Private Lives, starring Seohyun (Seo Ju-hyun) and Go Kyung-pyo in lead roles.
Private Lives revolves around a group of scammers who use their skills to share, steal, and manipulate private information of people. While running their scams, the group chances upon secret information that could harm the nation and goes up against the huge company that is trying to reveal it.
Go Kyung-pyo (Cross) plays Lee Jung-hwan, an ordinary employee of a major company who, in reality, is a mysterious figure. This is Go’s drama comeback after his mandatory military service. Seohyun (The Time) plays Cha Joo-eun, an innocent-looking woman who pays her bills by scamming people. Kim Hyo-jin (Strangers 6) will be returning to dramas after eight years with the role of Jung Bok-ki, a professional swindler who targets those in the same profession. Kim Young-min (The World of the Married), meanwhile, plays Kim Jae-wook, Bok-ki’s partner in crime.
The 30-second teaser is an exciting glimpse into the world of these charming swindlers. It begins with Cha Joo-eun announcing, “I manipulate private lives to be this happy,” followed by her various disguises—girl with a pink wig, innocent bride waiting at the altar—as she goes about scamming people. In what appears to be her real self, she is also seen wearing expensive jewelry and clothes, with both her hands full of shopping bags.
Lee Jung-hwan meets Cha Joo-eun under an umbrella in what appears to be a romantic date scene. He is dressed like an office worker and flashes her a charming smile. This is followed by the appearance of Jung Bok-ki, with bold red lips and a short bob, and her partner Kim Jae-wook, who seems to be in the middle of scamming someone. In the end, shots of mysterious brown envelopes and piles of money are followed by Joo-eun in one of her disguises, saying, “I want to be a good girl.”
JTBC also dropped glamorous posters for the show, featuring all four lead actors dressed in black. Kim Hyo-jin and Seohyun are featured in one poster against a purple background, dressed in black dresses and looking like sexy seductresses. In another poster, Kim Young-min and Go Kyung-pyo sport sleek black suits, looking dapper against a blue background.
Private Lives (also Private Life) is helmed by Nam Gun, who directed Temperature of Love (2017), while the script has been penned by Yoo Sung-yeol of My Beautiful Bride (2015) fame. It is set to air as a Wednesday-Thursday drama starting September 16.
