Synopsis

The King Loves tells the story of ambitious Crown Prince Wang Won (King Chungseon) as he fights for the woman he loves and the throne of Goryeo. He grows up being a best friend to a nobleman named Wang Rin but ends up as Wang Rin’s rival due to the woman they both love, Eun-san.  A rivalry full of betrayal ensues as both men vie for Eun-san’s affection and power in the throne.

Main Cast & Characters

Im Si-wan as Wang Won, the crown prince of Goryeo. He lives a virtuous life until his rivalry with his best-friend-turned-enemy forces him to use his cruel and ambitious nature in order to win the heart of the woman he loves and the throne. 

Im Yoon-ah as Han Eun-san, the daughter of the wealthiest aristocrat in Goryeo. Her striking beauty and charm make the crown prince and Wang Rin fall in love with her.

Hong Jong-hyun as Wang Rin, the crown prince’s childhood friend who falls in love with Han Eun-san and becomes a threat to Wang Won’s succession to the throne.
