Synopsis

My Sassy Girl is a drama remake of the hit 2001 film of the same title. Set during the Joseon Dynasty, it tells the story of a respectable and accomplished scholar, Gyeon Woo, who recently returned from Qing Dynasty and meets a mysterious woman who treats him badly. He meets her once again on the palace grounds and finds out that she is Princess Hye Myung, the sister of the Crown Prince whom he was tasked to teach. She behaves like not a princess though and is quite the sassy girl who drives him crazy. The drama will revolve around these two individuals destined to fall for each other.

Joo Won as Gyeon Woo. Gyeon Woo is a cold-hearted scholar who recently returned from Qing Dynasty and is tasked to teach the crown prince. He meets Hye Myung one night without knowing that she is a princess.

Oh Yeon Seo as Princess Hye Myung. A princess only by title, her actions and mannerisms is the opposite of grace and femininity which define a princess’ character. She is the ‘sassy girl’ that will fall in love with Gyeon Woo.

Lee Jung-shin as Kang Joon-young. Kang Joon-young is a loyal and trustworthy official working for the Ministry of Inspection who has developed feelings for Princess Hye Myung.

KimYoon-hye as Jung Da-yeon. Jung Da-yeon is a daughter of a high-ranking official known as the “queen bee” of the high society in the era. She is a woman who knows what she wants and is not afraid to get it.
