Descendants of the Sun A Year After Part 10

Love is a choice. Although not absolutely, we get to choose who, when and how we love. Episode 10 delves deeply into the concept of love.

Select Scenes from Episode 10

1. Driving Around

"Driving Around" scene in dots a year after part 10

Seo Dae-young: Have you ever thought about leaving the army and finding a new job?
Yoon Myeongju: Are you talking about me?
Seo Dae-young: I am talking about myself.
Yoon Myeongju: What do you mean?
Seo Dae-young: I perform dangerous jobs. And we spend a lot of time apart.
Yoon Myeong-ju: Are you saying that because of me? Are you thinking about that because of me?
Seo Dae-young: I’m talking about it because of us.
Yoon Myeong-ju: It seems like I’m supposed to be moved now. But I’m okay. I just love the way you are. It doesn’t matter to me whether you’re in uniform or not. There is no difference. Don’t take your uniform off without my consent, okay?

This has got to be one of the most exciting and sweetest scenes involving the secondary couple of the series. Yoon Myeong-ju and Seo Dae-yeong usually make it appear like they are not that sweet kind of couple as she always comes off strong while the sergeant tries to suppress his real feelings towards her. They find themselves in a complicated love story since they have to protect their respective positions and Yoo Myeong-ju’s father does not approve of their relationship. Despite the melting words Seo Dae-young said to Yoon Myeong-ju, she acts as if she wasn’t swept off her feet with what he said and just enjoys the moment.

2. To Tie Her Hair

"To Tie Her Hair" scene in dots a year after part 10

Yoo Shi-jin: *reaches for her hair to tie it for her*
Kang Mo-yeon: Hold it. I didn’t wash my hair today.
Yoo Shi-jin: Why? Did you run out of water? I already know you don’t wash your hair so often.
Kang Mo-yeon: That’s not me.
Yoo Shi-jin: When do I get to see the real Mo Yeon? *Proceeds to tie Dr. Kang’s hair*
Kang Mo-yeon: I can do that myself.
Yoo Shi-jin: Love compels us to do things for others that they can do themselves.
Kang Mo-yeon: I will do something for you later, too. I will do something that you can do yourself.
Yoo Shi-jin: You better keep your promise.

This is another scene wherein the two leads made my heart swell up with sweetness and happiness. The writers of the drama deserve to be commended for making the right words in the right timing. How Yoo Shi-jin describes love and what persons in love should do for each other is one of the most unforgettable quotes from the hit Korean drama. Have you had anyone who would do something for you even if you can do it yourself? I have and I can attest that it is one of the most wonderful feelings one could feel in a lifetime.

3. That Pair of Shoes That Does Not Fit

"That Pair of Shoes That Doesn't Fit" scene in dots a year after part 10

Dr. Song Sang-hyun: Hey. Did you receive anything?
Nurse Ha Ja-ae: Why are you asking about me? Surprisingly, there’s something here for you. Who’s it from?
Dr. Song Sang-hyun: Me. This is for you. Your size is 240 mm, right?
Nurse Ha Ja-ae: Doctor Song
Dr. Song Sang-hyun: Don’t thank me.
Nurse Ha Ja-ae: I wear 230 mm.
Dr. Song Sang-hyun: It’s okay, no one knows that.
Nurse Ha Ja-ae: I do!

The rom-com genre of the Descendants of the Sun is sometimes fed by these two characters who know that they feel something for each other but sometimes end up bickering due to differing opinions. This scene is also very memorable as it gives viewers the much needed comedic relief after the disastrous scenes.

4. The Death of Captain Yoo and Sergeant Seo

"The Death of Captain Yoo and Sergeant Seo" scene in dots a year after part 10

Do you remember this funny scene where a package for Seo Dae-young arrives and brings him and Yoo Shi-jin trouble? As Dr. Kang announces the package for Sergeant Seo, it is funny that Myeong-ju discovers what the package is the same time Captain Yoo and Sergeant Seo recalls that they would get killed if anyone gets to know what the box has and where it came from. It is very funny to see the two soldiers run for their lives and answer differently when asked about the box. Is this one of your favorite scenes from Episode 10, too?

5. In Sickness and In Health

"In Sickness and In Health" scene in dots a year after part 10

In contrast to the fourth scene, the ending of this episode is rather depressing. Seo Dae-young barges into the place where Kang Mo-yeon and Yoon Myeong-ju are held in quarantine and hugs Myeong-ju tightly. Seo Dae-young doesn’t care if she tested positive for the M3 virus but is much worried about what will happen to her.
