‘Dinner Mate’ drops poster full of romantic gazes from Song Seung-heon, Seo Ji-hye, Lee Ji-hoon, Son Na-eun

Upcoming MBC romantic drama Dinner Mate has shared a sneak peek of its lead stars Song Seung-heon (The Great Show), Seo Ji-hye (Crash Landing on You), Lee Ji-hoon (Woman of 9.9 Billion), and Son Na-eun (The Most Beautiful Goodbye) through a quaint poster.

Based on the webtoon “Shall We Eat Dinner Together?” by Park Shi-in, Dinner Mate tells the story of a man and woman who are trying to heal the wounds they have suffered from their failed relationships through food. The two are mistaken for a couple once while waiting in line at a restaurant and end up having weekly dinners together.

The poster reveals the four main cast members gazing at different angles against the romantic background of blurred city lights. Jin No-eul (Son Na-eun) is faintly smiling and is wearing a khaki coat over a white shirt that matches that of Jung Jae-hyeok’s (Lee Ji-hoon). The latter appears to be on the phone and is looking for someone in the crowd.

Meanwhile, Kim Hae-kyung (Song Seung-heon) and Woo Do-hee (Seo Ji-hye) are featured at the center and exude a more serious aura while facing opposite directions. The two characters radiate contrasting yet complementary personas as shown from Hae-kyung’s formal look and Do-hee’s casual style that are both in combinations of black and white.

Dinner Mate is expected to convey how delicious food can bring together people of painful pasts, help them heal, and spark new relationships among them. It is directed by PD Ko Jae-hyun, who worked with Song Seung-heon in the 2018 drama The Player. Catch it every Monday and Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. KST beginning May 25.
