SBS released on Monday the photos taken during the first script reading of its upcoming drama Whisper. The complete cast of the drama is now confirmed, with Lee Bo-young (God’s Gift: 14 days) and Lee Sang-yoon (On the Way to the Airport) playing the lead roles. Both actors are reuniting four years after their hit weekend drama My Daughter Seo-young.
Whisper is written by Park Kyung-soo and directed by Lee Myung-woo, the same writer and director behind the 2014 drama Punch. It is about a police detective and judge who team up against a powerful law firm that abuses the law and tolerates corruption. Lee Bo-young plays the character of Shin Young-joo, the detective determined to undo the injustice done to her father, while Lee Sang-yoon the plays the role of Lee Dong-joon, the judge who would help her in doing her revenge. He once made a wrong decision in the past, so he is making up for it by uncovering the truth with her and fighting corruption.
Kwon yool (Let’s Fight Ghost) takes the role of Kang Jung-il, a lawyer at the law firm who dreams of inheriting the firm someday but the actual inheritance goes to Choi Soo -yeon, played by Park Se-young (Beautiful Mind). She is the spoiled daughter of the law firm’s CEO.
Veteran actors Kim Gab-soo (The K2) stars as the CEO, Kim Hae-sook (Saimdang, Light’s Diary) as Shin Young-joo’s mother, Kang Shin-il (Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho) as her father, Kim Chang-wan (Hwarang) as Lee Dong-joon’s father, and Kim Seo-ra (Woman’s Secret) as his stepmother.
The first script reading of the drama took place in SBS Studio, Ilsan, South Korea on January 24, 2017. The drama will replace Defendant and air every Mondays and Tuesdays beginning March 27.
