Chun Woo-hee, Gong Myung, other cast members of ‘Melo Suits Me’ gather for script reading

Chun Woo-hee, Gong Myung, and the rest of the cast of JTBC’s upcoming drama Melo Suits Me gathered for the show’s first script reading, photos of which were released on June 27 by the cable network.

The release of stills from the script reading session that took place in March signals the start of active promotion for the drama, which is expected to premiere in the last week of July.

Melo Suits Me follows three women in their 30s as they navigate their daily lives and romantic relationships. The trio is composed of Chun Woo-hee, Jeon Yeo-bin, and Han Ji-eun. Meanwhile, Gong Myung is starring as the male lead alongside Ahn Jae-hong. The main cast attended the table read with director Lee Byeong-hun and screenwriter Kim Young-young.

The lead actors worked impressively during the script read. In the series, Chun Woo-hee (Argon) plays the role of Im Jin-joo, a hard-working TV screenwriter with a lot of emotional issues. Jeon Yeo-bin portrays the character of Lee Eun-jeong, a documentary film director who quits her job and starts her own company without sufficient funding, while Han Ji-eun plays Hwang Han-joo, a marketing team leader of a production company who maintains a positive outlook in life despite many challenges.

Meanwhile, Ahn Jae-hong (Fight For My Way) plays Son Bum-soo, a successful drama director who has lost interest in his job while Gong Myung (Feel Good To Die) takes on the role of Chu Jae-hoon, a junior colleague of Hwang Han-joo.

Also in attendance at the event are supporting actors Oh Yoon, Lee Yoo-jin, Lee Ju-bin, Han Joon-woo, Kim Myung-joon, Jung Seung-gil, Baek Ji-won, Kim Young-ah, Heo Jun-seok, and Ryu Avel.

Melo Suits Me is the first drama to be directed by Lee Byeong-hun, a movie director whose most recent work (Extreme Job) became a huge box office success in South Korea. The series is expected to premiere on July 26, replacing Chief of Staff on JTBC’s Friday-Saturday time slot.
