Choi Kang-hee confirmed for new fantasy rom-com offered to Kim Young-kwang

Good Casting’s Choi Kang-hee is set to grace our small screens again in the upcoming KBS2 fantasy rom-com series Hi? It’s Me! (tentative title).

Hi? It’s Me! follows the life of 37-year-old Yoo Byul-na, a contractual employee of a confectionery company. She is burdened by her circumstance of having an unstable job but continues to work hard. She also has not lucked out on romance. But by a twist of fate, she meets her 17-year-old self who makes her realize the bright side of life and that being in her 30s is more than just aging. The series is set to tackle the coming-of-age story of a woman who will go through the journey of forgiveness and self-love. Reports have confirmed that Choi Kang-hee has been cast to play Yoo Byul-na.

Choi made her small-screen debut in the 1995 high school drama The New Generation Report: Adults Don’t Know. Since then, she has been making notable performances in numerous films and TV dramas such as Protect the Boss (2011), 7th Grade Civil Servant (2013), and Queen of Mystery (2017, 2018), which ran for two seasons.

Meanwhile, actor Kim Young-kwang has been offered the role of male protagonist Han Yoo-hyun, the chaebol heir of a confectionery conglomerate who finds himself discovering life without the luxuries he is used to. Kim is reportedly looking over the proposal.

Hi? It’s Me! is based on the 2011 feature novel “Fantastic Girl” by Kim Hye-jung. The drama adaptation will be spearheaded by PD Lee Hyun-seok and writer Yoo Song-yi and aims to broadcast in November this year.
