Upcoming comedy series If You Cheat, You Die, starring Cho Yeo-jeong, Go Joon, and Yeonwoo, is reportedly gearing up for its first broadcast in October.
If You Cheat, You Die tells the frightful experiences that ensue when adults do bad things and consequently get bugged by their own guilty conscience.
Cho Yeo-jeong (Woman of 9.9 Billion) and Go Joon (Oh My Baby) were previously confirmed to portray the couple Jang Yeo-joo and Han Woo-sung. Yeo-joo is a best-selling mystery novelist who is famous for killing off immoral characters in her books, specifically, all unfaithful males. For that, she has earned the nickname “Praying Mantis,” after the carnivorous species known for having females that bite off and devour the males’ heads for survival. Contrary to the plotlines of her novels, she has been living a peaceful married life with her lawyer husband. Meanwhile, Woo-sung works as a divorce lawyer who is known for extending sincere empathy towards his clients. He tends to become overly invested, however, and was even once disciplined for misbehaving and getting too close to a person he was only supposed to represent.
Also reported to join the exciting lineup is singer-actress Yeonwoo, who signed up to play Mi Rae. She is a university student with an innocent appearance but whose inner personality is hard to decipher. Yeonwoo debuted as a member of the girl group MOMOLAND, but in 2019, she decided to pursue a solo career. During her last years with the group, she slowly ventured into acting and landed her first main role in the web series Happy Talk Season 2. She then took on supporting parts in dramas such as Tempted (2018), Pegasus Market (2019), and Touch (2020). Apart from the upcoming drama, Yeonwoo is also set to appear in the sci-fi series Alice (2020), which will air starting August 28.
Kim Hyung-seok, the director of the drama, shared a message to the viewers, “I would like to ask for your support on If You Cheat, You Die and your continued interest as each chapter of the story unfolds.” He has teamed up with Lee Seong-min, the screenwriter of Queen of Mystery in 2017 and its sequel the following year.
