Chae Soo-bin courted for new police drama Kang Daniel is in talks for

Actress Chae Soo-bin might star in a police-themed drama soon!

On March 9, an official from Chae’s agency King Kong by Starship revealed to the media that “Chae Soo-bin was offered a role in Our Police Course, and we are discussing it positively.” Previously, soloist and former Wanna One member Kang Daniel has been reported to have also received an offer to star in the drama.

Our Police Course is a campus drama about the dreams, love, challenges, and ambitions of the youth inside one of the most conservative police academies in the country. Chae has been offered to act opposite Kang Daniel, who was proposed the lead male character Hwi Seung-hyun. Seung-hyun is a first-year honor student at the academy, who is also the son of the head of the Dongbu Police Agency in Gyeonggi Province. He adores his father so much and dreams to follow in his footsteps by pursuing the same path his father did as a police officer. However, his conviction and plans take an unexpected turn after getting involved with a woman named Go Eun-gang.

Chae Soo-bin is best known for her roles in dramas such as I’m Not a Robot (2017–2018), Where Stars Land (2018), and the most recent, A Piece of Your Mind (2020). Meanwhile, should he accept the role, this will mark Kang Daniel’s official acting debut. It was also revealed that although a lot of acting projects have been offered to the singer, his dedication to further pursue his solo music career has kept him from accepting any acting proposal.

According to media reports, Studio & NEW will be in charge of Our Police Course‘s production, but the broadcasting networking and distribution channels are still under discussion. Over-the-top (OTT) services are also in talks to secure streaming rights over the the drama. One potential platform may be Disney Plus, which is reportedly securing content ahead of its launch in South Korea.
