OCN has released another hilarious teaser for its upcoming drama Team Bulldog: Off-duty Investigation.
Dubbed as an entertainment-action drama, Team Bulldog: Off-duty Investigation follows five eccentric individuals who team up to work on unsolved criminal cases. The group includes Cha Tae-hyun (Matrimonial Chaos) as a cranky but righteous detective who doesn’t get along with others; Lee Sun-bin (The Great Show) as an investigative TV show’s producer who goes to great lengths to find content; Jung Sang-hoon (Love Affairs In The Afternoon) as a forensic expert turned funeral director; Yoon Kyung-ho (Itaewon Class) as a gangster turned bar owner; and finally, Ji Seung-hyun (My Country: The New Age) as a criminal profiler.
The minute-long teaser showcases the highly amusing teamwork of the group. The five detectives are seen singing in a karaoke bar. When a figure clad in black walks in, the group hilariously rushes to ambush the man, revealing that they are undercover detectives waiting to arrest him. They then proceed to tie up the man and finish jamming to a popular song.
SBS also dropped character posters for the five main actors. Cha Tae-hyun’s poster bears the catchphrase “Call!” (which means ‘Sure!’), indicating his willingness to catch criminals.
Lee Sun-bin plays a TV producer in the drama, so her poster naturally bears the word “Cut!” She is shown holding a camera in the poster that reads, “A person thirsty for ratings will sell the criminal.”
Jung Sang-hoon’s poster features the catchphrase “Sseuk,” which is used to refer to someone fast at their job. The caption reads, “Sewn by the person who opens dead bodies,” referring to his ability to perform autopsies with lightning-fast speed.
Meanwhile, Jung Kyung-ho’s catchphrase on his poster translates to “thump”—a possible reference to his bulky figure combined with his poor stamina. Finally, Ji Seung-hyun’s poster bears the catchphrase “Shh,” referring to his sly ability as a profiler to pinpoint suspects by observing them silently.
The 12-episode drama is the third series under OCN’s ‘Dramatic Cinema’ project, which brings movie directors to the small screen. This time, movie director Kang Hyo-jin, who has acclaimed films like The Dude In Me (2019) and The Backstreet Noir (2018) to his credit, is making his drama debut.
Team Bulldog: Off-duty Investigation will air every Saturday and Sunday at 11 p.m. KST beginning April 4, following the conclusion of Jang Hyuk and Sooyoung’s Tell Me What You Saw.
The teasers for this series look hilarious! Cha Tae-hyun’s dramas always manage to deliver delightful comedy, among other things. And that’s one genre most people never get tired of, so I’m sure Team Bulldog is going to do just fine ratings-wise. Everyone from the main cast of the show has great comic timing, so I’m also looking forward to seeing the dynamics between this unlikely team of detectives.
