B1a4’s Baro (The Master of Revenge) received an offer for a role in the upcoming KBS time-slip drama Manhole: Wonderland’s Feel, which already cast UEE (Night Light) and JYJ’s Kim Jae-joong (Protect the Boss) as the main leads.
Manhole: Wonderland’s Feel is a fantasy comedy drama about an unemployed man named Bong Pil who travels back in time in an attempt to stop a marriage set to happen one week from the present time. Kim Jae-joong will play the lead character while Baro has been offered to take on the role of Jo Suk-tae, who is the close childhood friend of Bong Pil. A source from KBS said on June 26 that Baro is now reviewing the offer.
Cha Sun-woo, who is better known by his stage name Baro, is the main rapper of the boy group B1a4. He played his first drama role in Reply 1994 in 2013, which was followed in 2014 by God’s Gift: 14 Days in which he portrayed a mentally ill boy. Manhole: Wonderland’s Feel marks his fifth television drama.
A detailed description of Baro’s character is not yet released, but the details for two main characters of the drama are already out. Bong Pil has been studying for the civil service exam for the past three years but is not focused on it as trying to stop Kang Su-jin’s (UEE’s character) marriage is what keeps him on his toes. He is described as an unemployed and immature man who is considered a disgrace to his family since he depends too much on his postmaster father. Kang Su-jin, meanwhile, is a woman who keeps her distance from Bong Pil but as her wedding day becomes closer, she feels unsure if she still wants to push through since she sees that his love for her is truly different.
Manhole: Wonderland’s Feel is written by TEN 2 screenwriter Lee Jae-gon and will be directed by Love and Secret PD Park Man-young. It will air every Wednesday and Thursday starting August 9, 2017, a week after Seven Day Queen ends its run.
