Cable dramas made an impressive record this week (June 10-16) as all of them (those from the three major cable channels) entered the Top 10 list of the most talked about Korean dramas, which is a first for the group since at least April 2019. It means that the seven cable series, led by Arthdal Chronicles, were the subject of most online drama discussions and/or mentions among Koreans during the said period. They have a combined buzz score of 56 percent, which is a whopping figure considering that a total of 24 Korean dramas were included in the analysis and ranking.
10 Most Talked About Korean Dramas from June 10-16, 2019
Arthdal Chronicles topped the list for the third consecutive time although its buzz score dropped to 21.6 percent from 28.3 percent in the previous week. The ancient historical drama makes it hard for second placer One Spring Night to regain the top position which it occupied on its pilot week. The romantic series is one of the only three terrestrial dramas which secured a spot in the Top 10.
Six other cable dramas are on the list, with the three landing on the Top 5. Newcomer Chief of Staff and Search: WWW ranked third and fourth, respectively, while Voice 3 remained stable at 5th place.
The biggest loser during this period is KBS2’s Perfume which fell by three places from its previous position. On the other hand, The Wind Blows is the biggest gainer after moving two places up from the previous week’s ranking, overcoming Abyss and previous Top 10 placers Nokdu Flower and Investigation Couple 2.
- Arthdal Chronicles (tvN) — 21.64%
- One Spring Night (MBC) — 12.51%
- Chief of Staff (JTBC) — 8.59%

Lee Jung-jae’s return to the small screen after a decade-long hiatus seemed to have been greeted warmly by the fans as he made a runner-up finish. Shin Min-ah, his co-star in Chief of Staff, landed on the 8th spot.
INFINITE’s L (aka Kim Myung-soo) reappeared in the Top 10 this week after a two-week absence while his co-star Shin Hye-Sun has consistently landed on the list since the premiere of Angel’s Last Mission: Love.
