Rising actor Ahn Bo-hyun is considering to star in Nemesis, the upcoming Netflix original Korean series actress Han So-hee is also being courted for.
FN Entertainment, the actor’s agency, shared on August 5, “Ahn Bo-hyun recently attended a meeting for Nemesis, but the entire script has not been released yet.”
Nemesis (working title) will follow the journey of a woman who decided to join an organization and undergo rigorous training to avenge her father’s unjust death. She soon goes undercover as a cop to find the criminal, but matters take an unexpected turn when a detective falls in love with her. The World of the Married actress Han So-hee is currently reviewing an offer to portray the female lead character, but she has yet to reveal her official decision.
If Ahn accepts the offer, he will be taking on the role of Jeon Pil-do, a former national Judo player who became a detective instead. Pil-do is good-looking, strong, and well-dressed but sometimes comes off as overly confident. Underneath his cold and serious façade lies a man with a sad past who cannot stand seeing other people suffer. He was on his way to becoming a successful professional athlete, but a mysterious accident took everything he worked hard for. To seek revenge and catch the culprit behind his misfortune, he pursues a career in the police force.
Ahn Bo-hyun played notable roles in various series such as Descendants of the Sun (2016), My Only Love Song (2017), and Her Private Life (2019), but it was his performance in the friendship slash business-themed drama Itaewon Class (2020) that propelled him to international stardom. Recently, he was reported to appear in the upcoming series Kairos, alongside stars Shin Sung-rok and Lee Se-young.
Nemesis, previously known as Undercover, is set to be spearheaded by Kim Jin-min, director of Netflix’s youth crime series Extracurricular (2020), and Kim Ba-da, screenwriter for OCN’s Hero (2012). The drama targets to hold its first script reading this month and begin filming in September.
