Age of Youth Season 2 is now courting Kim Min-seok to become its male lead and finally confirmed that four of the five original main cast members will be returning for the upcoming season.
Kim, who is signed under Woollim Entertainment, was offered the male lead role in the drama and is now considering it. His agency confirmed this in a statement, “It’s true that he’s been offered the role and he is currently reviewing the offer. However, he has not made his final decision on the role yet.”
Kim Min-seok recently starred in SBS drama Defendant as a convict charged with assault. If he accepts Age of Youth, he will be playing the role of Seo Jang-hoon, a man romantically linked to a new female heroine who will be replacing Ryu Hwa-young.
The production team confirmed the return of the original cast members except for Ryu Hwa-young, who will only be appearing as a special guest. A representative from JTBC stated that “Season 1’s Han Ye Ri, Han Seung Yeon, Park Eun Bin, and Park Hye Soo have been confirmed to return. Ryu Hwayoung will appear from time to time as her character left Belle Epoque in season 1.” Ryu Hwa-young played the role of Kang Yi-na in season 1.
Age of Youth aired on JTBC from July 22 to August 27, 2016 for 12 episodes. It centers on college-age women living together in a shared house. These women include Han Ye-ri as the serious eldest housemate, Park Eun-bin as the bubbly and sociable member, Park Hye-soo as a college freshman, and Han Seung-yeon as someone who dated the worst boyfriend ever. The cast who will be joining the house as a replacement for Ryu Hwa-young’s character has yet to be announced by JTBC.
Age of Youth Season 2 might come back to the small screen in August this year.
