2PM’s Taecyeon confirmed ahead of Song Joong-ki, Jeon Yeo-bin to star in new drama ‘Vincenzo’

Entertainer and actor Ok Taec-yeon, known mononymously as Taecyeon, is confirmed to star in Vincenzo, the upcoming tvN mafia-themed series Song Joong-ki (Arthdal Chronicles) and Jeon Yeo-bin (Be Melodramatic) are being courted for.

Vincenzo will follow the life of Vincenzo Casano (Song Joong-ki), a man who was adopted at the age of eight and brought to Italy. Now, he has become a lawyer and works as a mafia consigliere. When a dispute arises within his organization, Vincenzo is forced to seek refuge in South Korea where he hides under the name Park Joo-hyung. He soon meets Hong Cha-young (Jeon Yeo-bin), a lawyer who is dedicated to winning every case she takes on. Joo-hyung falls in love with Cha-young and attempts to do good by achieving social justice in his own ways.

Taecyeon will transform into Jang Jun-woo, an intelligent and hardworking first-year intern at a law firm. He is from a middle-class family and is polite and sincere. Despite his boyish charms and good looks, Jun-woo is a bit awkward and innocent and often makes mistakes in his job that get him into trouble.

Following his debut in 2008 as the main rapper of the boy band 2PM, Taecyeon ventured into acting and played a supporting role in Cinderella’s Stepsister (2010). He gained massive recognition for showing his natural talent in it that he was given lead roles in almost all of the succeeding dramas he participated in such as Dream High (2011), Who Are You? (2013), Wonderful Days (2014), Assembly (2015), Bring It On, Ghost (2016), Save Me (2017), and the most recent, MBC’s mystery-crime series The Game: Towards Zero (2020). Currently, the actor is gearing up for his upcoming historical film Hansan (2021).

Vincenzo will be helmed by director Kim Hee-won of The Crowned Clown (2019) and penned by The Fiery Priest (2019) screenwriter, Park Jae-bum. It is targeting to premiere early next year.
