2PM’s Nichkhun cast alongside Byron Mann in new Hollywood rom-com film

Multitalented star Nichkhun Buck Horvejkul, better known as Nichkhun, has been cast to lead the upcoming Hollywood romantic-comedy movie Hong Kong Love Story alongside famous Hong Kong-American actor Byron Mann.

Based on Byron Mann’s real-life experiences, Hong Kong Love Story will follow two guys from wealthy families who travel together to Hong Kong and go through a string of events that will make them realize the true value of friendship and love.

Nichkhun is a Thai-American entertainer who rose to fame as a member of the South Korean boyband 2PM. His latest filmography record includes the films Ouran High School Host Club (2012), Seven Something (2012), and a cameo appearance in A Dynamite Family (2014). He then headlined the movie Brother of the Year, which later became the second highest-grossing box-office entry among the Thai films released in 2018. The promising actor has also signed up to grace the big screen with a Thai horror flick titled Cracked. In addition, Hong Kong Love Story is set to mark an unforgettable milestone in Nichkhun’s career as his first venture into the Hollywood acting scene.

Meanwhile, his co-star Byron Mann is no rookie to Hollywood films, having notably starred in various hit movies such as The Big Short (2015), Skyscraper (2018), and Don’t Let Go (2019).

Confirmed to be joining Nichkhun and Mann in the main cast lineup are Kenneth Tsang, a veteran Hong Kong actor known for his laudable performances in Memoirs of a Geisha (2005), Detective Chinatown 2 (2018), and Dearest Anita (2019), as well as rising Polish actress Dominika Kachlik of the movies Diablo. The race for everything (2019) and Mosquito State (2020). Dominika will portray the stunning model who unexpectedly comes in between the two male protagonists and shakes their friendship down to its core.

Hong Kong Love Story will be helmed by director Keoni Waxman, who previously worked with Mann in the upcoming movie The Ravine. Aaron Shershow, production manager of Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018), will serve as an executive producer. The film is reportedly targeting to crank up its production in December.
