When the Camellia Blooms took home the most number of awards with four wins in the recently concluded 56th Baeksang Arts Awards. Along with the coveted Daesang (Grand Prize), the drama also bagged the awards for Best Screenplay (Lim Sang-choon), Best Supporting Actor (Oh Jung-se), and Best Actor (Kang Ha-neul). The SBS sports drama Stove League won Best Drama, breaking the four-year winning streak of Best Dramas from tvN.
The highest-rated Korean drama of cable TV history, The World of the Married, secured two awards: Best Director (Mo Wan-il) and Best Actress (Kim Hee-ae). Meanwhile, the stars of international-hit Crash Landing on You landed one major award as well as three special awards: Best Supporting Actress for Kim Sun-young, Bazaar Icon Award for Seo Ji-hye, and the TikTok Popularity Award for Hyun Bin and Son Ye-ji.

Baeksang Arts Awards is considered the most prestigious award ceremony in Korea that recognizes excellent work and performance in Korean films and television shows. It was established in 1965 by Chang Ki-young, the founder of the Korean-language daily newspaper Hankook Ilbo. The 2020 Baeksang Arts Awards marks the 56th edition of the annual event. The dramas and films for this year’s awards ceremony are those released between April 1, 2019 and April 30, 2020.
